Blizzard of 2010

We are living in a Winter Wonderland after receiving almost 3 feet of snow since last Saturday!!  These are the kind of snow piles I remember as a child growing up in West Michigan.

This is the fourth day off from school and Abigail is enjoying it immensely.  The neighbor girls come over for their daily romp in the snow with her.

The snow compacted to the perfect snowman-making consistence yesterday so Mr. K and Abigail did just that.

Keep warm and be safe, my friends!

More Baby Knits

I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.  I'll just be a clanging cymbal.  =)

February Baby Sweater from Knitter's Almanac by Elizabeth Zimmermann
DK wool from my stash - hand dyed by me several years ago
Capped sleeves was a design modification because I ran out of yarn.  =)

Seamless Raglan - Free Pattern from Ravelry
Patons Classic Merino Wool in Woodrose Heather
I need to figure out the closure - most likely crocheted strings.   BTW, this was my very FIRST sweater.  =)

Milo Vest, a pattern I bought on Ravelry.
Lions Brand Fisherman's Wool in Mocha
I love everything about this pattern!!!

Have a safe and wonderful weekend!

A Week of Knitting

I didn't blog this week because I was busy knitting.  I'm sorry but I have pretty pictures to make up for it.  =)

I've wanted to knit a sweater for a very long time, but the amount yarn needed and time required to knit an adult sized one was daunting.  So I decided to knit a small sweater and here it is:

I'm so pleased with how it turned out.  =)  It's a free pattern download from Ravelry called Toddler Tunic.  The yarn was dyed by my dear friend Sue and was an absolute dream to knit.

So what do you think?  Does the sweater read boy, girl or either?

I also want to shout out a huge THANK YOU to all the wonderful comments on my Quilt Festival entry.  I'm so glad you stopped by to see it and you are welcome to come back any time.

Love,

Erin
