Granny Stripe Project Bag

One Friday morning I was struck with the idea to crochet a bag.  So I started with this pattern and morphed it with that pattern and ran into a brick wall when it came to the mesh pattern that formed the sides.  =)  Inspiration struck while trolling through Ravelry's pattern database.  Hooky ... hooky .... hooky ... and I was done!

Isn't it dreamy?!?!?  I popped a project inside and took it for a test run to the LYS.  Came home, tweaked the handles, and declared it Finished and Perfect.  =)

Yes, my dears, you are not seeing things ... that is a Whale Tail Door Knocker on my front door.  When we first looked through the house, I thought it was Hideous but now I rather like it.  =)  It is the perfect bag hook for blog photos and my yellow front door makes such a nice background.  Today it looks rather pale but that is because it is Gloomy outside.

Enough ... onto the Important Information:

Yarn - Rico Creative Cotton (Lucy Pack)
Hook - 4.5mm Susan Bates
Pattern - my own but I will share it with you as soon as I write it up.  =)

Love always,
Erin

Project bags can be very addictive! There is nothing like putting something you are making into something you have made and toting it around for the world to see.
Lovely job!

I love your bag!!!
I found your blog quite by chance when I was having one of those evening going from crochet blog to crochet blog.
I also love your Granny Log Cabin blanket.
In fact I love it so much that I just had to have a go.
Now I have decided to make two of them.
One using up all my different shades of grey yarn mixed with white, cream and black.
I was planning to make another blanket with that yarn but it just didn't turn out right.
And I started making a blanket for my oldest daughter in pinks, greys and creams, which was to be a Christmas present for her, but that didn't quite turn out right either.
So thank you so much for the inspiration!!!
I've already started on them, because I just couldn't wait to see what they look like.
I wrote a post on my blog today and I link to your Granny Log Cabin blanket.

Have a great weekend!!!
And thanks again
Chris

Hi Erin,

I am new to your blog and I love it. I'm from Pittsburgh too!

I tried to add you to my google reader, but for some reason it only shows top bit of each post. Do you know why that is?

Thanks!

Samantha, I'm not sure why it does that ... if you click on the small bit does it pop open in a new screen with the whole post?
