These fabrics have been in my stash for a couple years. I love them so much =) They are Tracey Porter prints from Joanns Fabric and unfortunately, they've been discontinued. The finish on these fabrics is incredible! It's a soft, suede/brushed texture and they are thicker then most quilting cottons. Absolute loveliness to sew!
I started cutting out the strips I needed for the above quilt. It's a really nifty Zig-Zag pattern made without any 1/2 triangle squares. Here's the linky to the pattern because I know you'll want to make one yourself. OF COURSE, I had to deviate from the pattern and not do a solid color every other row. That took a little extra planning, but I so love the results. It was good for the gray matter to work out the math. There were some extra blocks leftover from the Zig Zag Quilt so I sewed them together to make this sweet little number:

All this fabric was spread out on my island so what's a dedicated quilt-maker to do?!?!? Pack it all away and call it a day... I think not! I continued cutting and Tracey Porter Quilt #3 was born.

Oh my! Simple. Modern. Colorful. My quilt-making ovaries are aching. LOL Me thinks all three designs must be made over again in some of my lovely batiks. That will have to wait until another week. Holiday quilt tops are next on the agenda. Can anyone say "Jingle Bells?"
Love,
Erin

I love the quilts, Erin! You've inspired me to make a zig-zag quilt.
You inspired me, too! So much, that I made TWO zig-zag quilts!
